Starting Hourly Rate: $14.66

Nature of Work:  Instructs ice skating to children and adults following the U.S. Figure Skating Association Basic Skills curriculum.  Responsible for the implementation of structured class activities for group ice skating lessons.  Will routinely act as a lead instructor, guiding parents and skaters through first day orientation, training new instructors, and testing skaters on skill proficiency.  May exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  

Required Qualifications:  Must have demonstrated leadership ability during the previous season and have a good working knowledge of the program.  Must be able to teach all levels of skating.  CPR/AED and First Aid certification required by start of employment. Please note your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division. Desirable Qualifications:  Extensive background in figure skating or organized hockey programs.  Minimum of two years on-ice teaching experience, including one year with the City of Ann Arbor Instructional Skating Program.  Current PSA rating.  

Work Schedule:  Variable, dependant on lesson schedule. Classes are held Monday – Saturday from late-September through early-May.
