CANOE LIVERY ATTENDANT II Starting Hourly Rate: $11.22

Fun outdoor job working in our river parks. Job requirements easy to obtain. The City of Ann Arbor offers CPR/AED and first aid courses at an affordable price and at convenient times. The City pays for the cost of the MDOT Medical Card, a brief physical, obtained at a local health clinic. At the liveries we provide the training needed for driving our 15-passenger vans and 10-haul canoe trailers. Flexible hours, does require working weekends and holidays, working between 20 and 40 hours per week. Work with a team of livery staff at our popular boat rentals providing customers with a river experience.

Nature of Work Responsible for the handling and care of canoes, kayaks, and other boats, driving 15-passenger vans with trailers transporting patrons and boats on river trips, assisting patrons with boat rentals, and performing various assigned maintenance and repair tasks.  Work is outdoors with a team at both the Argo and Gallup Park Livery locations. Works under Assistant Facility Supervisors and the Recreation Supervisor.  May exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.

Required Qualifications: Minimum age requirement of 18 years. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to perform heavy manual labor and follow oral and written instructions without close supervision. Must have a valid Driver's License. Upon interview the Recreation Supervisor will provide details on how to obtain CPR/AED, First Aid Certification, Michigan Chauffeur License and Medical Card required by start of employment. Desirable Qualifications Past experience in customer service and outdoor recreation.

Work Schedule Season is April to October. Regular weekend and holiday work is required.  Actual number of hours worked per week is contingent upon weather conditions and time of year.
