OFFICE CLERK - Building and Rental Services
Starting Hourly Rate: $13.33   

Nature of Work: To perform a wide range of routine and non-routine general office duties around Building and Rental Services including; scanning, data entry, filing, collecting, analyzing and distributing data for building and housing inspections and ad-hoc reports. This position will also coordinate the customer service aspect of Building and Rental Services; interface with the public; provide general front office support by answering telephones, receiving and distributing correspondence in a timely manner, correspondence and operating a personal computer, calculator and other standard office equipment.

Job responsibilities include contacting contractors or residents by phone; scanning documents and attaching them in the internal software tracking system; sending out notices to contractors or residents by mail; assisting contractors, rental housing managers and residents with paperwork and permits. Additional responsibilities also include administrative tasks such as answering the phone, making and receiving calls to confirm inspections; filing, data entry and coordinating inspection dates with inspectors and customers.

Required Qualifications: Must have a High School diploma/GED. At least 2 years of proven administrative support with experience in all general office procedures and practices. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and accuracy; demonstrate outstanding customer service; demonstrate well-developed organizational and time management skills, demonstrate clear, concise verbal and written communication; office information technology; coordinate multiple duties; meet deadlines under pressure timely and accurately. Must be able to work under pressure in a busy environment.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree. 1-2 years of experience in a customer service and/or document scanning/archiving or related field.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
