Are you an experienced recruiter looking for a rock star HR team to work with? We are seeking a Recruiter who has the drive and energy to find the best and brightest employees for the City of Ann Arbor.

As the Recruiter, you will be responsible for leading the full life-cycle recruiting, including developing recruiting strategies, posting job advertisements, screening/interviewing candidates, and more. The successful incumbent will work with a sense of purpose and urgency to attract and hire the highest caliber of talent.

Compensation:

This is a full-time opportunity with the salary range of $55,000 - $65,000. Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation days, personal days and holidays, life insurance, and a hybrid pension.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Incumbent may be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Leads the full recruitment cycle including; posting vacancies on internal and external job posting boards, screening, maintaining interview schedule, developing ads, conducting phone screens and participating in panel interviews.
  • Leads hiring managers and Human Resources Service Partner (HRSP) to strategically creating requisitions, and hiring plans.
  • Leads recruitment advertising process by creating position ads and posts on internal and external sites.
  • Researches effective recruiting advertising methods and collaborate with management and HRSPs on finding additional resources to post vacancies.
  • Advises HRSP and Compensation/HRIS Supervisor on any potential difficulties regarding filling the position and changes to the job description or pay if needed based on the results of the posting range.
  • Works with external customers to participate in job fairs and network with various associations and universities
  • Creates and distributes employment-related correspondence; e.g., pre-employment/hiring forms, offer letters, and interview regret letters.
  • Initiates background investigations, authorizes/approves drug screening and pre-employment physicals, credit checks, education verifications and driving records, as needed.
  • Analyzes recruitment process performance and use data to recommend improvements to the current process.
  • Maintains the integrity of the recruitment process and is responsible for the implementation of recruitment process improvements for the City of Ann Arbor.

 REQUIRED SKILLS 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field
  • Recruitment (full cycle recruiting) experience at least 3+ years
  • Experience with applicant tracking, recruitment metrics, interview and selection, sourcing/job board management, and job fair/career events preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS at least 1 year
  • Experience with computers and software applications used in business settings (e.g., MS Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Basic knowledge of legal compliance for sourcing and selection

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build effective relationships and partner with hiring managers
  • Organize and schedule work effectively while working under limited supervision
  • Coordinate multiple projects and meet critical deadlines in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ability to recruit through social media, such as Linked-In, Twitter, Facebook
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and team skills and work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and interface with all levels of employees and external candidates

Move and lift light objects less than 20 pounds such as mail, files and supplies.  Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.  The ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
