Document Record Maintenance

Nature of Work:  To perform a wide range of routine and non-routine general office duties and maintain documents for the Water Treatment Services Unit including; deciphering categorization, scanning, adding keywords, data entry, filing, collecting and purging files

Job responsibilities include scanning a wide variety of engineering and management documents in a customized document management database and archiving physical files according to procedures; Additional responsibilities also include administrative tasks such helping customers who need help from project management and assisting with mailings.

Required Qualifications: Must have a High School Diploma/GED. Must be able to maintain confidentiality and accuracy; demonstrate outstanding customer service to the public as well as other City co-workers; demonstrate well-developed organizational and time management skills, demonstrate clear, concise verbal and written communication; office information technology; coordinate multiple duties; meet deadlines under pressure timely and accurately. Demonstrate the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures with guidance from Supervisors.  Must be able to work under pressure.

Desired Qualifications: Associate's Degree.  1-2 years of experience in an office environment managing, scanning, and archiving documents.  1 year of customer service experience.

Positions in this class typically require: reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Move and lift light objects less than 20 pounds such as mail, files and supplies. Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements. The ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. 

This position will last no more than 10 months and shall not exceed 29 hours per week.
