There is a possibility that this position may be renewed on an annual basis depending on the organization needs, funding and employee performance, in accordance with the City temporary worker's policy.


Starting Hourly Rate: $9.62

Nature of Work Duties will include the handling and care of the canoes, kayaks and pedal boats, handling of rental arrangements with patrons, operation of cash register and various assigned maintenance and repair tasks.  Location is at the Gallup Canoe Livery and Coffee Shop.  Works under Assistant Facility Supervisors and the Recreation Facility Supervisor.  May exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.

Required Qualifications:  Minimum age requirement of 16 years. Good communication and customer service skills.  Ability to perform heavy manual labor and follow oral and written instructions without close supervision.  CPR/AED and First Aid certification required by start of employment. Desirable Qualifications:    Past experience in canoeing and kayaking. 

Work Schedule Season is April to October. Regular weekend and holiday work is required.  Actual number of hours worked per week is contingent upon weather conditions and time of year.
