There is a possibility that this position may be renewed on an annual basis depending on the organization needs, funding and employee performance, in accordance with the City temporary worker's policy.


Starting Hourly Rate: $11.22

Nature of Work Responsible for the handling and care of the canoes, kayaks, and pedal boats, transporting patrons on river trips driving in 15-passenger vans, assisting patrons renting boats, operating the cash register, and performing various maintenance and repair tasks.  Located at both Argo and Gallup Canoe Livery.  During the absence of the supervisor or assistant supervisor, will be responsible for the physical operation of the livery.  May exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects.

Required Qualifications: Minimum age requirement of 18 years. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to perform heavy manual labor and follow oral and written instructions without close supervision.  CPR/AED, First Aid Certification, and Medical Card required by start of employment. Please note your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division. Desirable Qualifications Past experience in canoeing and the operation of vehicles and trailers. 

Work Schedule Season is April to October. Regular weekend and holiday work is required.  Actual number of hours worked per week is contingent upon weather conditions and time of year.
