There is a possibility that this position may be renewed on an annual basis depending on the organization needs, funding and employee performance, in accordance with the City temporary worker's policy.

 

DAY CAMP COUNSELOR II
Starting Hourly Rate: $11.22

Nature of Work:  Assists the Day Camp Director and/or Facility Supervisor with planning, organization, implementation and teaching of the day camp program. The counselor should plan to assist/or substitute for Day Camp Counselor I or Camp Director.  Experience and strong interest in working with children in a recreational setting and be able to work independently with groups of children.  May exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  

Required Qualifications:  Minimum of 18 years of age.  Knowledge of behavior management and instructional methods.  Ability to plan, organize, coordinate and implement a day camp program.  CPR/AED and First Aid certification required by start of employment. Please note your certification must be from an organization that has been approved by the Bureau of Community and Health Systems, Child Care Licensing Division. Desirable Qualifications:  Experience working with children in a recreational or educational setting.  

Work Schedule:  May be some flexibility.
